About God

There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality. (Genesis 1:1,26-27,3:22; John 1:1,14; Matt. 28:19; Psalm 90:2; Phil. 1:2; Titus 2:13; Acts 5:3-4; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Cor. 13:14)

Jesus Christ

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that He is fully God and fully man, a co-equal part of the Holy Trinity. We believe in the virgin birth. We believe He lived a sinless life. We believe that he died on the cross and rose from the grave to pay the penalty for sin. We believe that His shed blood is an atoning sacrifice for our sins and pays for the sins of those who believe. We believe that He is the visible image of the invisible God. We also believe in His imminent return. (Matthew 1:23; Luke 24:36–43; John 1:1–3, 1:29, 3:16, 14:1–3; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 1:15; 1 Peter 2:24)

Mankind’s Sin

Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God, but in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sin nature, and became alienated from God. We believe that man is totally depraved (sinful), and, himself, completely unable to remedy his sin condition. We believe that all men have sinned and fallen short of God’s standard of holiness (Romans 3:23).  We believe that the cost of sin is death (eternal separation from God) (Romans 6:23). We believe that God loves mankind and has pursued mankind. That even in our sinful state, God loved us (Romans 5:8). We believe that while man can do nothing to rectify his sinful state, God has made a way. That the cost of sin is death and eternal separation from God, but the free gift of God is eternal life for those who believe. The only way out of our sin is the belief in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection as the payment for our sin and that Jesus is Lord. Through placing our faith in Jesus we are born again, without being born again, we are stuck in our sin and subject to the judgment and wrath of God. Jesus Saves

While we are all sinners, and all of us fall short of the glory of God, Jesus saves us from our sins. We believe that man has no power to save himself no matter how good his intentions. God, however, being a loving God, has provided a way for all men to be saved by grace through faith in His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and that no one gets to heaven without faith in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. There is no other way. When a person exercises their faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, at that moment they pass from death to life. Salvation is Secure

We believe in the eternal security of the believer (that it is not possible for the true child of God to lose his salvation). John 10:28–29; Romans 8:35; Ephesians 1:13-14; Philippians 1:6; 1 Peter 1:5

The Holy Spirit Regenerates

We believe that when a person exercises their faith in the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ that the Holy Spirit is given to the believer to permanently live within them. At that moment of belief a person is baptized by Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit and placed into the Body of Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit gives at least one spiritual gift to every believer for the edification of the Church. The Holy Spirit produces fruit in the believer of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. We believe that the filling of the Holy Spirit is meant to be a continuous experience for the believer. This filling occurs by through the believer’s submission to God’s authority in their life and through living out Ephesians 5:19-22. We also believe that the Holy Spirit seals us guaranteeing our salvation, and that eternal security is a sealing work of the Holy Spirit.   (Matt. 3:11, 28:19; John 1:33, 16:8-15; Acts 1:5; Rom. 6:1-8; Rom. 8:9-11,14,26, 15:16; 1 Cor. 3:16, 6:11,19, 12:4-11,13; Gal. 5:22-23; Eph. 1:13, 4:1-12, 5:18-20)

The Word of God

We believe that the Bible is the written word of God. We believe that all scripture is God breathed and that it is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that the person of God is fully equipped for every good work. We believe that as God breathed the scriptures that means that the Holy Spirit inspired the writers of both the Old and New Testament to reveal God’s character, man’s condition, and the salvation of all who believe. The Scriptures instruct us in who we are and who God is. They are of supreme and final authority on every subject with which they deal. We believe them to be without error in the original writings and that the reader of the scriptures is blessed. We seek to follow the Bible in all we do, seeing it as God’s concrete communication to us about Himself and life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)

About Good Works

We believe that righteous living and “good works” are not what save us. Mankind is incapable of being good absent of God’s work in our life. We believe that God is so holy that our “good works” still fall so incredibly short of God’s standard and His Holiness that we need God to save us.  Once we have placed our faith in Jesus we believe that all “good works” that flow out of our lives are the result of the Holy Spirit within us and our abiding in the Lord Jesus Christ.  We believe that “good works” are the natural response to the mercy, grace, forgiveness, and authority of Jesus in our lives. Through the word of God, through the Holy Spirit, and through our commitment to Jesus, “good works” overflow out of our lives. (Eph. 2:8-10; John 15; Rom. 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Titus 3:8)

Church is Important

We believe that the church is the body of Christ. That believers are to gather together in local communities to worship God, encourage one another, pray, observe communion and baptism, and gather for teaching about the Lord. We believe that we are to make a commitment to each other to spur one another on in the Lord, and that, together, we are to fulfill the Great Commission – to go and make followers of Jesus.
