Why I Created
"Through the Darkness"
I didn’t create this conference as a theory or an idea. I created it because I had to walk through it.
Over the years, I’ve walked through deep personal loss. Two of my closest friends passed away. Ten years ago, I lost my father. I've lost friends to suicide, addiction, and more. I've had dreams dashed, hopes never realized, and the loss of miscarriages.
As a pastor, I’ve stood at countless gravesides. I’ve preached at the funerals of people I loved. I’ve sat with grieving families. I’ve looked in the eyes of the brokenhearted.
And through all of that—I had to face my own grief. Not just to help others, but to survive.
I turned to Scripture again and again, not just for words to preach, but for life. For peace. For God’s presence when nothing made sense. And here’s what I learned:
Grief isn’t a moment. It’s not a funeral or a service or a graveside. Grief is a process.
It’s the ongoing journey of taking your pain, your sadness, your confusion, your loneliness—and laying it before God.
It’s walking through the valley of the shadow of death… with Him.
This conference is the result of that journey. It’s the framework I wish I had. The safe space I needed. The guidance from Scripture that carried me.
